This is a 3-hour practical course delivered in our training room. Assessment is through a combination of practical activities and a written assessment. During the practical workshop, all participants must demonstrate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation on a manikin on the floor and an infant manikin on a firm surface.
Please note: Due to the current ‘social distancing’ rules that apply to indoor areas we are restricted to a maximum of 4 students per session.
There are no entry requirements for HLTAID001 Provide first aid; however, Smart Nation Education will consider your demonstrated ability to complete all aspects of enrolment without assistance when determining your capacity to successfully complete this unit of competency.
Note: HLTAID competency standards require a level of physical ability needed to provide CPR and respond to an emergency situation where there may be risk to life. Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty of care, cannot perform CPR and/or first aid to the performance standard, it is inappropriate for Smart Nation Education to issue a statement of attainment if you are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements.
If you attend a first CPR course but are unable to meet the full requirements, Smart Nation Education may provide you with a certificate of attendance.
